A path to feeling good

I have a constant battle with aging.

I don’t mind and I am proud of my age, but I find it difficult to fully embrace the aesthetics of nature.

The trivial vain that screams at me.

In midlife, there is a lot going on physically and internally with our hormone craziness.

We can have mood swings, lack of libido, dryness, joint pain, insomnia, memory loss, weight gain, blah blah blah and a big list of shitty stuff.

BUT WHAT IS GOOD ABOUT MIDLIFE?

You can maybe for the first time in your life choose to put yourself first.

You already raised kids and or business

Prioritazed husband

Grew on your career

You already proved yourself

You finally know who you are

Now is the time to motherhood yourself

Time to opt for you

To step in

To do whatever you want

and to be in charge

It is time to learn how to say no

to set boundaries in place.

It is the middle of your life if it is not now then when?

I remember my mum back in the 90s deciding if she should do a facelift or travel to New York for her 50th birthday.

She thought plastic surgery was more important as she was then experiencing an invasion of young work colleagues with their piercings and pink hair in her workplace.

She felt insecure about her age and losing her job.

My mum was a very experienced and rewarded journalist working in the TV industry for decades.

She worked at the major tv channel in Brazil, she had a master degree in Paris, an award in journalism, but all that she thought was that she could lose her job anytime for someone nearly the age as her daughter.

That was when I first heard about ageism.

When women turn 50, they can become invisible, as if they lost their value and they are not welcome in the workforce anymore.

30 years after we can still see this happening, but much less. I hope.

IT IS SHIFTING, WE ARE STEPPING INTO OUR POWER, UPDATING, UPSKILLING, ADAPTING, PIVOTING, SHOWING UP AND SPEAKING UP.

A woman over 50 today doesn’t even look like a woman over 50 from the past generation.

It was the time, that a woman just accepted anything quietly wearing florals blouses and beige pants.

THERE IS A MIDLIFE WOMEN REVOLUTION HAPPENING.

If you are suffering in silence not knowing how to deal with peri or menopausal symptoms, there are plenty of resources, books and groups to help.

Get educated. Get better. Take some action.

If you are looking for a personal approach towards your health, I created Women's Wellness program to help women over 40 to step in and take care of their wellbeing.

It is tailored to this age group focusing on what a body in the second stage of life needs: diet, exercise, mindset, stress management.

Please send me a message for more details.

If I have to give only one tip to lose weight it would be the good old: FOOD DIARY

Simple, easy, and very effective.

Your own personal accountability friend.

Write it down during 1 or 2 weeks everything that you eat. Including bites while preparing dinner or lunch box.

What to write:

Time: the time that you ate

What: the food including sauces, bites.

How much: the measurement can be in hands, cups, spoons.

Where: where you were

With whom: if alone or with family, friends, boss, etc

How: If at home quietly or in the car rushing or standing at the coffee shop, etc

Mood: if stressed, tired, sad, anxious, worried, happy, etc

I still do it myself every now and then to reset when I feel things getting out of whack.

This will give you a very precious information, we can then map out your behaviour in accordance with mood, company, place, time, and create a strategy to better overcome any pattern that doesn’t serve you.
