Hello, women over 40!


Are you frustrated because you can't lose weight?


One of THE MOST IMPORTANT THING TO CONSIDER IN THIS PHASE OF YOUR LIFE IS :


STRESS MANAGEMENT


Yes, this plays a big role in your ability to digest and metabolize food.

You can only digest if your body is in the rest, recover, digest mode. You will not digest if you are in the fight, flight and freeze response.


On our 40 our hormones start to go in a little mad dance and this impact our ability to bounce back our cortisol levels (the stress hormone) and keep stress at bay.


Now anything that triggers our stress response the cortisol is released but we don’t have as much progesterone to bounce it back.


So we need strategies to avoid that our body goes into a stress response and stay there every time that you can’t find a parking spot and you are late.


Ideas to integrate on your day to calm your nervous system down :


Go for a walk in silence or listening enlightening podcasts (I love Unlocking Us and dare to Lead with Brené Brown, We can do Hard Things with Glennon Doyle, Super Soul- Ophra)

Restorative Yoga - 15 min ( youtube)

Meditation (Apps: Insight timer, Calm)

Breath slow , Inhale for 2 counts , exhale for 4 counts - 1 to 3 minutes

Legs up in the wall. Great posture for perimenopausal . Not do to if on your period.

Massage. Touch Heals.

Make sure that you have "me time "everyday, even if it is 20 minutes for a coffee wondering, to dance around the house or a bath with candles.

Speak out. Don't hold.
